Let's face it, this movie is difficult to watch. It is possibly one of the most aggressive movies toward the audience ever put together. With clashing soundtrack, offensive hostility, dark humor, and strange behavior, the movie makes no sense to anyone... or does it? Sure, the details are a bit odd, but the story is simple enough: The no budget homemade movie starts out on an average Thursday morning in Burton's head, with all the images of his favorite science fiction movies. Toho, RKO, and Ray Harryhausen images mix and swirl together in an homage to all the early sci-fi greats, Godzilla, Sinbad, Mothra, Mighty Joe Young... Burton is a Butcher of rare meats for his exclusive clientele. On his walk to work, Burton hangs a few Roommate Wanted signs. Burton is a strict and angry boss during the day, and a lonely drunkard at night watching old science fiction movies alone. Maybe a new roommate would make life less lonely. His new roommate moves in, and things begin to get weird. Burton's new roommate Clarity is up to some unusual things with wires, computers, electronics... One night walking home, Burton is chased by a gang of thugs, blacks out, and mysteriously wakes up in the back of Clarity's car. Clarity explains, he just happened to be driving by, and rescued him. With investigators at the door, hired help quitting at work, Burton seeks the advice from his only friend, Swain, and they meet up at Whiz Burger. Burton tries to explain his situation, but because it's so weird, he can't get Swain to take him seriously, and they end up arguing. Burton is all alone in the weirdness. When the gunfight took place at Burton's place later on, Burton is injured, and Clarity saves him once again, but in order to do so, has to take Burton up to his space ship. The two transport via the help of Clarity's copilot Mascot, and together fix up Burton's arm, who is sent home A-OK to watch the game with Swain. The Anemic Butcher was shot in 1992 - 1993 on VHS camera, edited between two VHS decks, and mastered onto VHS. Digital transfer 2008. Copyright©
